Title I is a federal program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), designed to provide financial assistance to schools and districts with high percentages of students from low-income families. The main goal of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to receive a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.
